ELKHART, Ind. – The city of Elkhart has opened a new “pocket park” at the intersection of South Third Street and Park Avenue just south of downtown. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday, September 4th.
The park has a merry-go-round, a cave climber, and multiple swing sets; perfect for kids to have fun and burn energy on.
A pocket park simply refers to a park on a small plot of land that a single building would occupy.
According to city officials the playground cost about $70,000 with partial funding coming from the Community Development Block Grant.
