Elkhart paralympian swimmer makes Team USA

ELKHART, Ind. -- We have been hearing a lot about the upcoming London Olympic Games, but one Elkhart swimmer is getting ready for the Paralympics.

Dalton Herendeen graduated from Concord High School in 2011 with a long list of achievements and he is already making waves at the University of Illinois.

Herendeen told ABC 57 News that all of his dreams are coming true: He just made Team USA and he has a good shot at a medal.

It's hard to believe he wasn't even interested in paralympics until just four years ago. That's when he competed against some of the guys who swam in the Beijing Games. He realized then his young age would be a huge advantage in the water.

ABC 57's Ashley Izbicki reports.
