Elkhart Police Department issues statement following resignation of Chief Windbigler
The Elkhart Police Department issued a statement following the resignation of Chief Windbigler.
Windbigler's resignation was effective as of Monday, Dec. 10, 2018.
Assistant Chief Todd Thayer will serve as interim chief until a permanent replacement is found.
The statement reads as follows:
In regards to the resignation of Chief Windbigler, Chief Thayer will continue to be the interim Chief for the Department.
Until a replacement is named as chief, the Elkhart Police Department is committed to providing professional police services to our citizens and our community.
We will learn from the past while continuing to focus on the future.
