Elkhart Police investigating fatal shooting

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday night on West Garfield.
According to police, they received a call at approximately 10 p.m. regarding a person needing medical assistance.
When police arrived to the 700 block of West Garfield, they located a man with a gunshot wound who was unresponsive.
He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Durwood Elliott III from Elkhart.
