Elkhart Police investigating reported child abduction
ELKHART, Ind.—The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a report of a child abduction near Moyer Avenue and Ren Street however the department has not received any calls of a missing child.
On October 5, around 1:41 p.m., a young girl reported to police that she saw a child get abducted near Moyer Avenue and Ren Street.
She told police she believed the child to be a male between the age of two and six years-old.
The reported suspect was driving a white van with a circle emblem on the front grill and tinted windows on the back and sides. The van also had scratches on the back and side of the van.
The missing child is believed to be wearing a white hoodie with red and blue on it.
Officers said they conducted a "large door-to-door search looking for anyone with information or needing to file a missing person report," but as of Monday evening, no one had contacted the department to report a missing child.
A larger search was also completed by vehicle and K-9 units and drones were used in the search area.
