Elkhart Police investigating two shootings at River Run Apartments

UPDATE: Tyrese Jackson, 19, was arrested on a preliminary charge of criminal recklessness with a firearm in connection with the first of the two shootings. He is accused of firing shots at a vehicle with people inside. 

ORIGINAL STORY:

ELKHART, Ind. - Elkhart Police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred Wednesday evening at the River Run Apartments.

Investigators say they don't believe the two shootings are related.

The first happened just before 9 p.m. in the 700 block of Monroe St. 

The second occurred just after 11 p.m. in the 300 block of Middlebury St. 

In both cases, the victims suffered gunshot wounds, but their injuries were not life threatening.
