Elkhart Police welcome new officer

ELKHART, Ind. -- During the Police Merit Commission meeting on Monday, Elkhart Mayor Tim Neese swore in a new Elkhart Police officer.

Patrolman David Hackett was graduated from Delton Kellogg High School and attended Macomb Community College. He was in the US Navy and is currently in the Air Force National Guard.

Hackett has already attended the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and will begin training immediately.
