Elkhart resident photographs albino deer

One Elkhart County resident says he found an albino deer hanging out near his home.

Smokey Stover sent photos into the newsroom Monday.

We spoke with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources about the sighting.

"People believe they're rare but actually, it's as common of occurrence as in many other species, that albino, or different color phases, do occur. It actually happens more often than people think; they just don't see them that often," said Indiana Conservation Officer Jonathon Boyd.
