ELKHART, Ind. -- The City of Elkhart wants you and your kids to get out and enjoy nature on Saturday.
The city is taking part in "Kids to Parks Day" -- a national effort to get more children outside.
Mayor Tim Neese is encouraging families to enjoy all of the city's parks, especially the four that recently had renovations done.
The city maintains more than 250 acres of park property at 35 locations.
"They’re strategically placed. We have a good cross section of activities and improvements that residents whether they are from the City of Elkhart or they're just here visiting can visit and utilize and appreciate our parks,” said Mayor Neese.
Neese also encourages families to share their park experience on social media.
You can upload pictures of your visit on the Elkhart Park Department's Facebook page.
