Elkhart to make sewer system improvement

ELKHART, Ind.-The city of Elkhart will take steps to help improve the St. Joseph River.
The city has agreed to make more than 150 million dollars in improvements to reduce over flow from the sewer system. The move will also impact the Elkhart River and Chistiana Creek.
The decision to pay up is part of a lawsuit settlement. The justice department filed a claim alleging the city was violating the Clean Water Act.
