Elkhart's final flood debris collection date announced

ELKHART, Ind. -- The City of Elkhart says residents should have all flood debris curbside by 5 p.m. May 3 for pickup.

After that date, residents will have to make arrangements for the removal of the debris.

Borden Waste-Away allows residents to dispose of two large household items a month, including furniture and carpet. Large item pickup is done on your normal trash day and can be arranged by calling 293-5001.

Debris will also be accepted by the Elkhart County Landfill, but regular rates will apply.
