SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Elks Lodge in South Bend offered free spaghetti dinners to first responders and medical workers on Monday to thank them for everything they’ve done during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In order to receive the free dinner, you were to show a valid identification or have on your uniform.
The Elks Lodge says that not only do first responders and medical workers deserve the free meal, but this also gives them one less thing to worry about.
“Those that we’re inviting in are in great need of some relief and you know take some added pressure so that they don’t have to go home and try to cook or you know worry about a meal for themselves,” Lance Gustin said, the Leading Knight at the Elks Lodge.
The free meal giveaway went on until 7 p.m.
