Equal Pay Day Rally

Join us on the steps of the St. Joseph County Courthouse to raise awareness about the persistent wage gap between men and women.

Supporters of equal pay for women will wear red as a symbol of how far women and minorities are “in the red” with their pay.

Participating women’s groups include the YWCA North Central, Indiana, the League of Women Voters South Bend Area, AAUW-South Bend, the Feminist
Federation of South Bend and students from area campuses.

A proclamation from Mayor Pete Buttigieg office is expected to be read at the rally.

All are welcome after to join in “an equality toast” at Tapastrie in Downtown South Bend.

From 5-6:30pm , the bar will serve and sell a special drink designed for the occasion by bartenders Wally and Tyler -- an "Up from 75" to remind us that in our congressional district in Indiana, women earn 75 cents for every dollar men earn.

When: Tuesday April 12, 12 pm

Where: St. Joseph County Courthouse, 101 South Main Street, South Bend, IN 46601

Price: Free, drinks not included
