Excitement grows as Notre Dame-Michigan football match-up draws near

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Irish and Wolverine fans are making their way to South Bend for the first game under the lights at Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday night.

Due to scheduling conflicts in the coming seasons, Saturday's match-up is the last time in the near future the 2 storied programs will play each other.

"It's sad because Michigan and Michigan State were always a big time rival." said Notre Dame fan Ed Martz.

This is the 42nd time the two teams will take the field against each other. With the all-time winning percentage at stake, both sides are hungry for the win.

"Both Michigan and Notre Dame fans are some of the best in the country and we love it," said Michigan fans Bob and Trudy Grimer.

Michigan is one of only four schools with a winning record against Notre Dame.
