Extra Indiana state troopers to patrol roads for July 4th holiday

INDIANA -- With the 4th of July holiday around the corner, state troopers are hitting the roads.

Tuesday kicks off  “Operation Care.” It's all in an effort to keep the streets safe. The program is federally funded.

One-hundred-fifty extra troopers will be keeping an eye out for impaired and aggressive drivers.

Indiana State Police said so far this year 36 more people have died on Indiana roads than this time last year.
