F1 tornado touches ground in Southern Indiana

PAOLI, Ind. – Some folks in Southern Indiana were in storm clean-up mode.

A storm moved through Paoli Monday. Dozens homes were destroyed, roofs were wrapped around cars, and some trees completely uprooted.

The National Weather Service confirmed an f-1 tornado touched down.

"It sounded like there was a like helicopter or a plane and it just hit all at once,” says Leslie Snyder.  “And the wind, it shook the walls in the house and then it was over just as fast as it came."

The weather service says the tornado packed 95 mph winds, and was on the ground for about two miles.

Straight-line winds also caused damage.
