FACT identifies motorcyclist killed in SR 23 crash

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The motorcyclist who was killed in a crash on SR 23 Tuesday night has been identified.

The driver of the motorcycle was identified as 48-year-old Louis Gerald Lampert of Edwardsburg, Michigan.

Lampert was driving north on SR 23 when he rear ended a pickup truck, according to the St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team.

Lampert was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. He cooperated with the investigation.

FACT investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash.

An autopsy will be conducted on Thursday.
