FACT investigating motorcycle crash that injured driver, passenger

Two people were injured in a motorcycle crash that happened early Thursday morning, according to the St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team.

The crash happened just before 1 a.m. at E. Jefferson Boulevard and N. Byrkit Avenue.

Investigators say the motorcycle, driven by 40-year-old Lucas Packer, was traveling through the intersection hen the motorcycle hit the curb and crashed onto the tree lawn/sidewalk area.

Packer suffered minor injuries.

His passenger, 33-year-old Erin Packer, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. She is expected to survive.

FACT is investigating the crash because of the severity of the injuries.
