Failure to yield leads to two-vehicle crash on C.R. 20

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the intersection of C.R. 29 and C.R. 20 around 4:34 a.m. Wednesday for a two-vehicle crash.
The report states a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 25-year-old Angel Galvan of Nappanee, was traveling east on C.R. 20 at the intersection of C.R. 29.
At the same time, a 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by a 60-year-old Nappanee man, was traveling north on C.R. 29 at the intersection of C.R. 20.
Deputies say Galvan failed to yield the right of way at the intersection and struck the Avalanche's rear driver side.
Galvan's vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage while the Avalanche suffered heavy rear driver-side damage.
The 60-year-old driver was taken to Goshen Hospital in Goshen for complaints of back and arm pain.
Galvan was cited for Failing to Yield the Right of Way at the intersection and for Driving While Suspended.
