Fair weather starts the month of February, the coldest weather in two years arrives this weekend. Thursday starts the focus before the big cool-down with a chance of rain as temperatures warm-up to 40, then plunge into Friday and keep falling through the weekend. South Bend has not fallen below zero in two years, that is a possibility Monday morning. With the bitter cold comes the possibility of lake effect snow showers this weekend and next week.
Tonight: Light lake effect snow showers, west of U.S.- 31 Partly cloudy. Low 18.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. High 33.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy. High 34.
Thursday: Afternoon rain, changing to evening snow showers. High 40.
