ST.JOSEPH, Mich – Families flocked to Silver Beach in St. Joseph for the annual Independence Day fireworks show but this time it was on July 3rd.
“We just came out here to enjoy the fireworks today and I’m enjoying myself very much,” Silver Beach visitor Mike Simpson said.
ABC57 first told you on July 1st that the show would happen a day earlier to limit the crowds, and the community is speaking out about the change.
I honestly like having the changed because it’s easier and we don’t have to deal with the traffic,” Niles resident Taylor Beightol said.
According to the Berrien County Parks Department the estimated crowd size was 5,000 people just before the fireworks show began.
Berrien County Visitor from Tennessee Kale Britton said he enjoyed the environment on the beach for the fireworks show.
“I think everybody should enjoy the Fourth of July it’s a celebration for Independence Day we should all be getting along and having a great time out here,” Briton said.
