GOSHEN, Ind.--- The family of Joshua Perry, the man shot by Goshen Police after allegedly leading them on a slow speed chase, spoke with ABC 57 on Thursday about the incident.
“His mom is really sore on the subject,” said Micah Dillenbeck, Perry’s cousin. “His brother, they weren’t happy about the pursuit with how the cops handled it.”
Family members say that Perry was shot in the arm, and the jaw following the chase Wednesday night.
Dillenbeck believes the chase stemmed from failure to pay child support.
“He’s willing to die for his family and his sons, no matter what it took,” said Dillenbeck
ABC 57 was able to confirm through court documents that one of the warrants for Perry did involve child support payments.
Dillenbeck says he is relieved that his cousin wasn’t killed.
“I hope you see this Josh. I love you and no matter what you’re going through, I’m here for you,” said Dillenbeck.
