Fans experience NFL combine and give their analysis on the Irish
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Irish faithful traveled to the circle city to see their favorite players participate in the 2024 NFL combine, and hopefully impress their favorite team.
Day three of the NFL combine started at 1 p.m. and ended at 8 p.m.
A long day for quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers.
When it comes to Notre Dame products, this was the day most fans have been waiting for.
How will Audric Estime perform? How will Sam Hartman win over scouts and coaches with his arm?
Running Audric Estime was up first and didn’t disappoint. Standing at 5’11", weighing in at 221 lbs., the New Jersey native posted a 4.72 in the 40-yard dash and 10.5 on broad jump.
“Estime was a little bit slower than I really thought he was going to be. But I honestly, I don't think that's necessarily a big thing for him, because I don't think he's gonna get drafted for speed. He's gonna get drafted for being able to run over people like he did in three years at Notre Dame, so I think he's gonna be just fine,” Notre Dame fan Daniel Feller said.
As for Hartman, the six-year collegiate QB was a great test-taker. After running 4.80 in the 40-yard dash, Hartman’s accuracy was impressive on the deep ball.
After throwing for nearly 2,700 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions in one year with Notre Dame, Hartman could use more hype going into the NFL draft on April 25.
“Hartman, I feel like it's gonna be a little bit of a work in progress maybe a team that's looking for a developmental quarterback that they can get down the road,” Feller added.
