Farmington Public Schools to offer superintendent contract to Dr. Herrera
BENTON HARBOR, Mich.—Farmington Public Schools voted late Wednesday night to offer current Benton Harbor Area Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Herrera a superintendent position at the Farmington, Michigan school district.
According to a post on Farmington Public Schools’ Facebook page, the school board voted four to three on Wednesday night to extend a contract to Dr. Herrera.
The vote follows the review of feedback forms that had been submitted by students, staff, parents and community members.
Dr. Herrera was selected as one of two finalists that were interviewed for the position on May 29. The other finalist was Dr. Sarena Shivers, current superintendent of Redford Union School District.
The interviews involved a full day of school tours and focus groups.
