CASS COUNTY, Mich.-- Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal traffic crash on Teasdale Lake St West of Robbins Lake Rd last night around 11:30 p.m.
The driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when suddenly he lost control to the right.
The vehicle flipped on its top and it slid down an embankment for approximately 50 yards, hit a tree, and came to rest at the bottom of the embankment.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger was transported by ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital for minor injuries.
The passenger involved in the crash was wearing seat belts, but the driver in this crash was not.
Alcohol and drugs are believed to be a contributing factor in this crash.
The investigation is still ongoing.
