Father charged with murder in Fillmore Road shooting
A murder charge has been filed against Christopher Fulce Sr, who is accused of fatally shooting his son during an argument on November 17, according to the probable cause affidavit.
On November 17, Charlin Fulce, his brother Christopher Fulce Jr, Christopher's girlfriend and half-brother were at Christopher Fulce Sr's home in the 23000 block of Fillmore Road.
Charlin and his father, Christopher Fulce Sr, got into a disagreement over the adoption of another family member, reports said.
Charlin's father allegedly threw a toy at Charlin, which struck him. Charlin threw it back and it struck his father.
Charlin then allegedly struck his father in the chest with a closed fist.
Christopher allegedly said, "The day you hit me is the day you're gonna [sic] die," according to the probable cause affidavit.
Witnesses told police Christopher Fulce Sr went upstairs to get his .22-caliber rifle, while Charlin left the residence.
As Charlin attempted to drive away from the house, Christopher Fulce Sr fired shots at the car, reports said.
Charlin returned fire, reports said.
Christopher fired at the vehicle again, and Charlin's vehicle struck a tree, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Christopher Fulce Jr approached the vehicle and discovered his brother slumped over, reports said.
Charlin was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head/neck area. A bullet fragment entered his brain stem causing a catastrophic injury, according to the probable cause affidavit. He was pronounced deceased Friday afternoon.
Christopher Fulce Sr spoke with investigators. He first said when he was firing his gun, he didn't believe he was firing in the direction of his son. He later said he might have been firing in Charlin's direction into the ground.
He said when Charlin returned fire, that prompted him to continue to shoot in Charlin's direction, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Initially, he did not know Charlin had been struck by gunfire, but when he learned he had been hit, waited at the home for police and paramedics.
Christopher Fulce Sr has been charged with one count of murder.
