FDA investigating outbreak of hepatitis A in strawberries

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration is investigating a multistate outbreak of hepatitis A possibly link to fresh, organic strawberries sold at stores like Trader Joe’s, Kroger, and Walmart.

The strawberries were under the brands FreshKampo and HEB and were purchased between March 5, 2022 and April 25, 2022.

Cases have been reported in California, Minnesota, and Canada.

The fruit was purchased at the following stores:

  • Aldi
  • HEB
  • Kroger
  • Safeway
  • Sprouts Farmers Market
  • Trader Joe’s
  • Walmart
  • Weis Markets
  • WinCo Foods

If you’re not sure what brand of strawberries you purchased or where you got them from, throw them away.
