Federal grant could bring new airline to South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A new airline could be coming to South Bend Regional Airport, thanks to a new federal grant.

The airport has officially received a $750,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The money will be pit together with additional funds to help bring in low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines.

Frontier would provide round trip service to Denver.

If the airport and the airline can reach an agreement, Frontier could be moving into South Bend within the next two years.
