Female student accused of attempted stabbing in Notre Dame dorm

NOTRE DAME, Ind - A female Notre Dame student was handcuffed and taken in for questioning after officials say she attempted to stab a male student in a dorm room Sunday night.

The Assistant Vice President of Notre Dame, Dennis Brown, said the woman knew her would-be victim, who is a male student.

The attempted stabbing happened around 8:30 in a dorm room at Siegfried Hall Sunday night.

As of 2:30 Monday morning, students told ABC 57 they had not received an email alert from officials. Some said they were wondering why students and staff were not notified about what happened.

Police have not said whether the student will face official charges.
