Fewer babies being born in Michigan

MICHIGAN -- Fewer babies could be bad for business in Michigan.

New numbers show that the birth rate there has hit a record breaking low.

On average, just over 11 babies were born for every thousand people in the state in 2010.

During the baby boom of 1956, that number was 27.4.

This could put an even tighter grip on the state's recovery efforts.

It has already dealt with a major exodus of residents in the past decade.
