Fewer farmers died last year on the job compared to the year before.
Farming is typically considered one of the most dangerous professions, alongside military jobs and fire fighters.
But in Indiana, only 18 farmers were killed in 2013, compared to 26 the year before.
Field safety specialists credit advancement in safety and durability of farm equipment for the drop in deaths.
