Fighting Irish officially land in Emerald Isle

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Fighting Irish have officially landed.

At 4 a.m. Thursday Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly tweeted, "Landed in Dublin."

ABC57 has new pictures from Notre Dame's football Twitter page including one that shows the plane captain in his Irish hat, ready to take the team to Ireland.

Another photo shows an inside look at the huge airbus Notre Dame is flying in. The plane is filled with Irish green gear.

"I think every year we're excited, you put in so much effort,” said Kelly. “I just feel more comfortable with my role and our team and our staff's role, just confidence that we can go in and do the things necessary to be successful."

They have a long weekend ahead. Stay with ABC57 News for complete coverage of the Emerald Isle Classic.

The big game is Saturday at 9 a.m.
