SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Fighting Irish Women's soccer team are coming off a first round win the NCAA playoffs.
We caught up with team captain Leah Klenke and head coach Nate Norman ahead of the second and third rounds later this week.
When asked about their secret to success, Klenke says it's the team's chemistry.
"It's amazing. It's truly awesome. I mean, we're all best friends. They're like family all my sisters, so it's just amazing. We're so close on and off the field. We love doing things outside of soccer, so that helps a lot, but it's really, it's really been amazing. And shout out to, like all my teammates and coaches too, for just really fostering a culture of just all being inclusive and super close to each other."
Round two is scheduled for Thursday with the Fighting Irish hosting Ohio State at Alumni Stadium at 6 P.M. Also on Thursday, Wisconsin will face Baylor.
Winners of each game will then advance to round three scheduled for this Sunday at 2 P.M.
