Finally some rain

Finally some rain!

The drought is far from over (we are still 5" below average in South Bend since March 1) but the grass and plants did get a nice drink!

Showers and thunderstorms developed Saturday afternoon and continued into Sunday morning.  Most of Michiana saw less than half an inch of rain.  But, the rainfall was vastly widespread.

Click here for a map of the rainfall (as of 9 a.m. Sunday morning).  This will be a bigger version of the thumbnail to this story.

Here are some of the storm highlights:

North Judson saw 2.42" of rain

Knox: 1.75"

Plymouth: 0.68"

Niles: 0.34"

South Bend: 0.30"

Benton Harbor: 0.17"

Goshen: 0.09"

LaGrange: 0.03"

Middlebury: 0.02"

We could see a few showers and thunderstorms early Monday and then another chance for rain Thursday.  But, no washouts in sight.

The drought continues...
