Finding a bit of Notre Dame in Texas

AUSTIN, Texas -

Thousands of Irish fans have made the trip to the Longhorn State to get set for the Nortre Dame and Texas match up.

While Austin definitely has a style and flavor all its own, there is so much blue and gold and of course 'Kelly Green' walking the streets, making these Irish fans feel right at home.

And speaking of home, there are five players on Notre Dame's roster from the state of Texas, including tight end Durham Smythe and wide receiver Torii Hunter, Jr.

The team has time to spend with family tonight and Hunter says it's great to be back in his home state.

"I'm going to be playing against some friends that go to UT, there's some family that live in Austin. So its going to be fun going back and playing under the lights but you know, the big thing is Friday night lights in Texas and just trying to go back and relive that to a certain extent. Its going to be pretty fun." says Hunter.

While the team was able to enjoy some down time tonight, it will be all business Sunday.

After breakfast, the guys will have a light 'shake out' workout before heading to the stadium.
