Finding "Michiana's Cookie"
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- B100's Brittney Bailey, INRugCo, and Ivy Tech Chefs Sarah Frushour and Susie DeMaegd have all teamed up to find "Michiana's Cookie" for a great cause.
“The big theme of the B100 Morning Show is 100% Michiana. And so I thought what would be better than pairing one of my favorite places with some of my favorite people to create one of our favorite desserts, which is cookies, We were trying to figure out what are the tastes that are best represented in Michiana.” said Brittney Bailey.
Chef Sara and Chef Susie from Ivy Tech are the masterminds that helped put this idea into practice.
“We've got three different kinds. What we have is a lavender, white chocolate, blueberry - local lavender, white chocolate, and then wild dried blueberries, and they are so good. They don't just taste like blueberries, there's a whole different palette behind the flavors. And then we have a peach cobbler, crumble cookie. There's cinnamon, cardamom, peaches, and apricot glaze. We also added a peach extract, so it's very fresh, very peachy. And then we also have our corn cookie. So it's got dehydrated corn, corn meal, and then the bottoms we press into crushed cornflakes. So it's corn on corn on corn. but it's really, really good!” shared Susie DeMaegd.
Brittney hopes that in the end this can support St. Jude Children's Hospital.
You can cast your vote on which cookie is your favorite and what it should be named at INRugCo located at 220 E. Mishawaka Avenue. The winner will be announced Monday, September 25 on B100.
