BREMEN, Ind. - Fire officials said two employees were injured in a fire at a local business Monday morning.
The fire started around 5 a.m. at Bremen Composites, which is located at 425 Industrial Dr.
Investigators do not know the extent of the workers' injuries or how the fire started.
Management officials at the company said one employee 'in the vicinity of the fire' was injured and was immediately taken by medical personnel to receive treatment. The other employee was injured during the evacuation process and also received treatment for a minor injury.
Fire officials said the fire caused quite a bit of damage to the building. The fire started inside.
The Indiana State Fire Marshal's office is investigating.
The Bremen Fire Department originally responded to the call. Fire crews from Nappanee and La Paz assisted.
According to the company's web site, it makes manufactures running boards, step/pony boards and front spoilers for Chevrolet/GMC, Ford and Dodge pick-up trucks, SUVs, and vans.
The company's administrative offices were unaffected and will remain open. Production work has been moved to the company's other locations while the cleanup and repair process takes place at the plant.
