SOUTH BEND, Ind. - South Bend Fire Chief Buchanon wants residents to know that the demolition of one of the oldest fire stations in the city will not impact the level of services provided to the area.
Right now, South Bend’s Fire Station 8 is being demolished to make way for a new and updated fire house.
Station 8 currently sits at the corner of Twyckenham Drive, Altgeld Street and York Road.
Service to the area will not be affected even while firefighters wait for the new station to be built, according to Chief Buchanon.
