Fire on 2900 block of Kelsey Avenue ruled as accidental

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A fire on the 2900 block of Kelsey Avenue on Saturday around 6:25 pm has been ruled as accidental, according to the Elkhart Fire Department.

According to the report, about $30,000 worth of damage was left by the blaze, but no injuries were reported. The fire was out within 25 minutes.

When crews arrived at the scene for a possible structure fire, heavy black smoke filled the sky. Crews made their way to the south side of the building and encountered a large exterior fire.

Firefighters got water onto the fire and other crews worked to gain access to the exterior walls and roof. However, they were able to determine that only trapped smoke was in the area. The flames were all extinguished.owever,

The Elkhart Fire Department began the clean-up process and helped the family gather their personal items.
