Firefighters call Warren Township fire suspicious

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Investigators are looking into a late night house fire in St. Joseph County.

It started around 11:30 p.m. on U.S. 20 in Warren Township.

Right now, firefighters are not sure what caused the fire, but said it's suspicious.

Crews told us the only reason the house is still standing is because they got there so quickly!

"When you can protect someone's livelihood or home with minor repairs and personal belongings are not damaged, then that is a good thing that's what we like to do," said Steve Downy, a Warren Township firefighter.

Firefighters put the flames out in about 15 minutes.

Three people were home at the time.

No one was hurt.
