As high pressure builds, sunshine and seasonal highs await
NILES, Mich. -- Firefighters responded to the Elks Lodge on Canal Street in Niles Thursday afternoon for a fire at the front of the building.
Firefighters said the damage was contained to the exterior.
The fire happened began around 4 p.m. and was quickly under control after multiple departments responded to the scene.
On Facebook, the Elks Lodge wrote, "Small incident at the lodge today -- will not be open tonight but everything is under control..."
The chief of the Niles Fire Department said the fire started after someone tried to exterminate bees.
This is the second incident involving bees in the last day. A man in Cass County caught himself on fire attempting to exterminate bees.
