Firefighters spot garage fire, quickly put it out

SOUTH BEND – Firefighters were able to spring into action quickly after seeing  flames from their own station.

A garage caught fire Friday evening just before 5 p.m. near Pleasant Street and 27th Street in South bend.

St. Joseph County Officials say firefighters from Station 9 spotted the fire and jumped into action.

Within a half hour the flames were put out with the structure only partially damaged.

There were no injuries reported.

Investigators are still looking into what caused the fire.
