ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - Officers with the St. Joseph County Police Department visited the Hopebridge Autism Center on Wednesday so kids on the Autism spectrum can understand officers' willingness to help them in emergency situations.
Wednesday's meeting offered a relaxed environment where kids and officers could interact.
"We were asked to come here by the Hopebridge Autism Center to just meet the kids and let the kids know that the police are here to help them, and in the need of crisis, not to be scared of us," said Sergeant Jason Dziubinski.
Dziubinski said the kids were excited to see the officers and liked the lights on the police vehicles.
