SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Court documents from St. Joseph County reveal at least five men were arrested on Sept. 20 following reports of a large crowd with fights breaking out.

The South Bend Police Department reports officers arrived on scene and were informed there had been a shooting incident the week prior.

While on scene, police saw a group of men, later identified as 19-year-old Jose Miguel Tirado, 20-year-old Larry Ramone Mitchell Jr., and 19-year-old Sabian Martin, walk into a restaurant.

Officers say it appeared the men were concealing weapons. Police say they were all checking lumps under their clothing and holding their pants up with their hands, as if something heavy were in the waistbands.

The property the men entered, has publicly posted prohibitions on carrying firearms there.

Once in the restaurant, police say the men got in line at first before looking back at the officers.

The three men realized they were being watched and ducked out a rear exit into an alleyway. Officers then found them in the alleyway.

One officer ordered them to stop and began checking Martin for weapons. Martin allegedly fought the officer.

While officers dealt with Martin, Mitchell and Tirado fled. Backup officers caught the two leaving the Eddy Street Commons area.

Martin is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement-Defendant causes bodily injury, a Level 6 Felony, while Tirado and Mitchell are each charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, a Misdemeanor.

During the same day, officers noticed Malik Jaylen Williams, a person known to be prohibited from possession of a firearm and had been previously convicted of Dangerous Possession of a Firearm, a Level 5 Felony.

Williams was also a person of interest in a recent shooting.

Police noted Williams was wearing heavy, thick clothing despite the temperature being approximately 80 degrees. Authorities say this is consistent with someone trying to conceal a firearm.

Officers approached him and told him to stop. Williams then walked away and began walking faster as police got closer.

Williams kept his hands near his waistband which further caused concern that he was armed.

Williams was then taken to the ground and handcuffed. While officers walked Williams towards a police transport van, he continuously pulled away from them and dragged his feet.

After a brief struggle, they got him in the van and taken to St. Joseph County Jail.

Williams is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, a Misdemeanor.

While police were in the area of Eddy Street Commons, they were also alerted to a man armed with a gun. An officer heard screams and observed a crowd dispersing.

People were heard yelling "gun" and a man, later identified as 19-year-old Triston Le'Anthony McReynolds, was seen walking away while clutching his waistband.

An officer approached McReynolds, who then took off running. Police caught up with him at which point he stated he had nothing to do with what happened. He then continued to flee.

Authorities ordered him to stop, but he continued. Officers ended up detaining him during which they observed a handgun in his waistband.

It was learned McReynolds' criminal history shows a prior conviction for Intimidation, a Level 6 Felony.

McReynolds is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, a Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun, a Level 5 Felony.
