ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - Five Goshen officials, including four members of the school board and a failed trustee candidate, currently face felony charges for failing to report contributions they made to fund an election mailer from the 2022 school board election.
Allan Kauffman, Mario Garber, Roger Nafziger, Jose Elizalde, and Andrea Johnson were all charged in the incident.
The charges stemmed from Kauffman allegedly accepting an $11 thousand donation, which was used to fund a campaign flyer, and not being honest about where the funds came from.
Each person accused also face misdemeanors and fines for campaign finance violations.
On top of the charges mentioned above, Kauffman also faces an additional felony charge of filing a fraudulent report.
ABC57 reached out to Goshen Community Schools who says they have no comment on the matter at this time.
