South Bend man receives 24-year sentence on meth, gun charges

ABC 57 SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South bend resident DeCarlos Christopher Smallwood is sentenced to 24 years in prison, after pleading guilty to possession with the intention to distribute 669 grams of meth, as well as possession of a firearm. On November 6, 2025, officers executed a search warrant on Smallwoods home and vehicle. where they had found approximately 669 grams of pure methamphetamine and a loaded firearm. Smallwood is already a pre-convicted felon and following his sentence, he will have five years of supervised release.
