Five people face felony drug and firearm charges after Berrien County detectives execute search warrant

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - The Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) West detectives, and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department Tactical Response Unit (TRU), executed a search warrant in the 1500 block of North Teakwood in Lincoln Township.

Officials say during the search warrant, multiple suspects attempted to flee but were apprehended by SWET and TRU personnel.

Six individuals were initially detained, but only five were arrested on various felony drug and firearm crimes.

Authorities say charges will be sought on an additional suspect who was not there during the search.

Detectives located and seized crack-cocaine, LSD, marijuana, ketamine, and crystal methamphetamine according to documents.

Documents also state there was evidence of illegal drug sales and several firearms.

The five individuals arrested at the scene are residents of Berrien County and are identified and charged as follows:

41-year-old male: possession with intent to deliver crystal methamphetamine, felon in possession of a firearm, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of crack-cocaine, possession of ketamine, and maintaining a drug house.

31-year-old female: Michigan Department of Corrections - violation of probation, new charges of possession with intent to deliver crystal methamphetamine, felon in possession of a firearm, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of crack-cocaine, possession of ketamine, and maintaining a drug house.

53-year-old male:  outstanding felony drug warrant for possession of methamphetamine, outstanding misdemeanor larceny warrant, and new charge of possession of crystal methamphetamine second offense.

35-year-old female: Friend of Court child support warrant, outstanding criminal bench warrant for a traffic offense, and new charges for resisting arrest and possession of crystal methamphetamine, second offense.

26-year-old male: outstanding criminal bench warrant for failure to appear on a possession of methamphetamine charge and new charges for resisting arrest, possession of crystal methamphetamine second offense, felon in possession of a firearm, and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The names of the arrested subjects are being withheld pending court arraignment.
