Flames engulf a garage and side of home in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- There was a garage fire that traveled to the house at 3821 Greenmont Drive in South Bend on Wednesday around 4 p.m.

The owner of the house, Kathy Hill, was not home at the time, and no one was hurt.  However, the fire did melt the entire garage door off.

There is still no word on how the fire started.  Neighbors say the owner of the home was hysterical.

"She started crying. She sort of fell in the yard and we got her a chair," said neighbor Bret Anthony.

Neighbors said investigators were asking the owner, Kathy Hill, questions about a lighter they found near her garage.
