Flames rip through Windy City Fireworks

ROCHESTER, Ind. — Huge smoke clouds and flames billowed out of the building that is home to Windy City Fireworks in Rochester.

The fire sparked at around 9:30 Wednesday night at the fireworks store located on 18th Street near U.S. 31.

An Indiana State Police officer says that multiple departments responded and witnesses said they saw several explosions of fireworks soon after the fire broke out.

Smoke could be seen miles away on U.S. 31.

Every road that leads to the fireworks store was blocked off by police and fire, including actress to State Route 14 from the Bypass.
