Flower power to take over Elkhart ArtWalk Wednesday

ELKHART, Ind. – The monthly Elkhart Artwalk, themed Flower Power for May, will be in full bloom rain or shine Wednesday evening.

Organizers say the event will take place on Civic Plaza starting with live music by saxophone player Erin Leiter at 5 p.m.

More music performances will be scattered throughout the area including:

  • Jim Catalano on the vibraphone at Our Place on Main
  • Don Lytle at Servants Heart Community Church
  • Megan Happe, sing at Arts on Main
  • Don Kilgren and Mike Keagle at the Black Crow
  • Mike Doty at Midwest Museum of American Art

There will also be art installations and hands-on workshops:

  • Paper flower-making workshop at Servant’s Heart Community Church. Register in advance by clicking here
  • Floral paintings by Kathy Stiffney displayed at Matzke Florist
  • Wood-fired pottery by Peter Fauver at Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce.

Other displays can be found at Christian Hub, Edward Jones Financial Services, Black Crow, and Juxtapose Gallery.

ArtWalk organziers say there will be jewelery, woodwork, and photography will be displayed as well.

Kids can get in on the fun with crafts at the Tolson Center and Servant’s Heart.
